Clerk of Court Fines Collection

What about receipts?

The Clerk of Court will issue a receipt for EACH payment made at the Fine Payment Window. Those receipts are the only way a defendant can prove that a cash payment was made to the State Court. Payments paid over the phone and those made online will show up on your credit card statement.

Also, with payments made online, in addition to the payments showing on your credit card statement, a receipt will be available for printing when the online transaction is completed. Remember there are many courts in Chatham County where fines are paid and that can lead to great confusion. For that reason, PLEASE BE CAREFUL with your receipt and DO NOT MISPLACE IT.
