• Handles cases administratively rather than as a criminal matter.
• Enables citizens to dispose of minor traffic cases expeditiously.
• All trials are before the Court. There is no jury in a TVB case.
• Allows for PRETRIAL disposal of cases by posting a bond which may later be forfeited in lieu of appearing in court.
• Any TVB assigned case may be transferred to the criminal court docket.

Oh, by the way...
All cases handled in the Traffic Violations Bureau, come from other Chatham County Jurisdictions. For that reason it is possible that a traffic ticket have been "bound over" to State Court but not yet received.
You may check for your case by name or citation number at E-Docket. If it is there, you will see the date your case is scheduled for and the court ordered bond amount. With that you may decide whether to post the bond or appear in court as subpeonaed and answer the charges.
